Re: RARA-AVIS: The Summer of Trevanian

Hi Jeff,

Which one, do you know? Hawk's lists Allen J. Hubin's CRIME FICTION II: A COMPREHENSIVE BIBLIOGRAPHY 1749-1990 as its source for the Hashian correlation, & further states under H's name (I'm quoting): "wrote some 'Trevanian' bks-suspect "Shibumi" & "Summer of Katya." Hashian is not listed in Hawk's for any other pseudonyms (if you haven't seen Hawk's, check it out--it's about 1700 pages of there & back, & usually
[though not always] reliable. If you have, we wouldn't be having this conversation as it is, I suspect).

Hawk's credits Whitaker with the two "Sanction" books, with "The Main," and (heh heh) with "Shibumi."

By the way--is there some reason that Hashian should be ruled out as a ghost, here, that I'm unaware of? You seem critical of the notion, but to me, it's just one fact or another. Am I missing something?

Best, Rob
