Byron Preiss died from injuries sustained in a traffic
accident on Saturday, July 9. The car he was driving was
struck by a jitney bus. His two daughters, in the car with
him (on the way home from temple), sustained only minor
injuries. Preiss was 52.
Preiss been working as a book producer, packager and editor
since the 1970s. He'd publshed comics adaptations of stories
by Raymond Chandler and his iBooks operation
(www.ibookinc.com) has reissued many hard- boiled classics,
by Lawrence Block and others.
