Whatever else Tinsley was, he was one of several writers who were hired by Street & Smith to be back-up
"Maxwell Grants" in case anything happened to interrupt Walter Gibson's prodigious output of Shadow novels. Tinsely ended up writing more Shadow novels than anyone except Gibson himself.
