  Well, Dave, speak for yourself! Actually, your characters are a good example of the extreme in dark, believable characters. I can't get that evil no matter how I try! There is that factor that turns off a lot of people, in this country especially. I wonder if the surgeon has any sleazy doctors in his books. If the plot moves fast enough, would that be permissible? Probably not. You're plot really moves if I remember correctly, but then maybe what I think is moving is based on the suspense created by the character, and other people are waiting for the next piece of action. I don't know. Vicki
