I hadn't seen that cover before either. It's strange that
this Bantam edition should be so scarce. Following up on
this, I checked out the availability of the original Dodd
Mead edition of Badge of Evil. No copies at all on ABE. Not a
single one. There are two copies of the British first edition
done by W. H. Allen, ranging in price from $750 to $950, but
why there are no copies of the US edition for sale, I cannot
imagine. (WorldCat says there is one in a public library 2
miles from me, among many others.)
