RARA-AVIS: Badge of Evil

Whit Masterson's "Badge of Evil" is a very competent police thriller, even though it's not as radical or as thought-provoking as Welles's film. Welles changed many things in his film, but it's still worthwhile to read the original. If you can catch it. Abebooks has three copies and the priciest of them is 950 $! None of these are American versions - it was a hardback from Dodd, in 1956. There seems to be no tie-in version, as Jim Doherty suggests.
