Any rare birds know of a decent independent or used book store in and around the French Quarter? I'll be there next week for a conference and would love to explore. Looking for more than just HB collections.

************* There was a nice looking one right in the heart of the French Quarter, but I didn't go in. The French Quarter is fashionable, and you usually pay for that. I kinda became interested in the voodoo history, in particular a Marie LeVrie (last name??), a famous local voodoo queen. Evidently the name became a house name that got passed on, with many sightings of the woman years after her death. There are several cheap story books of local legend. Check em out!

The Quarter, although a fairly safe tourist destination, gets rough late at night around the time the bars close down. Be careful.
