RARA-AVIS: Re: Jim Beaver and DEADWOOD

I thought DEADWOOD started off with a bang and fizzled somewhat after Wild Bill Hickock meets his end, especially when they start softening up the saloon owner.

Anyone here been watching Carnivale? The second season is much better than the first. The weirdness is starting to make some sense and you get the idea where its going is well planned as opposed to say Twin Peaks which never went anywhere. John Lynch Carroll who played Drew Carey's cross-dressing brother on the old Drew Carey show has a terrific role as one of the most vicious and murderous characters of any HBO show. The last episode, the way he handles the Bonnie & Clyde-type gas station robbers is a must-see!
