Not according to my CP Stylebook. I believe the name was Eddings, not Edding, just like Roberts, not Robert, so the apostrophe would come after the s. But let's not get into a style argument on this list.

Kent Morgan who just e-mailed his latest sports column featuring a hockey player named Mathers to his editor. I'll have to see how he edits it.

  To start with, right on the first page, the possessive of Roberts is given as Robert's. Off to a flying start. Similarly the possessive of Eddings becomes Edding's. Maybe I'm being finicky.

  -- I was raised differently but when I worked as reporter Canadian Press style was Edding's, not Eddings'.
