A close friend of mine was a film student at the University
of Texas under Professor Rod Whittaker at the time that
Whittaker's pseudonymous first best-seller was published.
Apparently they were good enough friends that my friend knew
Whittaker was planning to use the Trevanian name during the
period the book was being written and before fame attached
itself to the pseudonym.
