Does his mean you're only looking for "good" guys? Because
the first tough guys that spring to my mind are on the other
side of the law -- Parker, Earl Drake, Jack Carter, Lawrence
Block's Paul Kavanaugh and Ken Bruen's Brady, who is "bad
fucked" in The Hackman Blues.
Bruen has another tough guy whose a cop, DS Brant. And Dan
Simmons's Joe Kurtz is sorta on the side of the angels,
although he works for some dodgy people.
