Not exactly <<about>> them, but a very large portion of my book WET DEBT was set in the early 1930s, revolving around the gangs in both Chicago and Kansas City. Frank Nitti played an important role, in a section describing how he was shot up pretty badly when the police led by a couple of officers named Lang and Miller invaded his office on LaSalle Street. Also discussed the somewhat forgotten role that Ted Newberry played in the Chicago gangs of the early '30s, and how much of the corruption was facilitated by Mayor Cermak, who had very close connections with Newberry.

The research was lots of fun. R
