Like Allan, I disliked the movie. Somehow, despite the
interesting story, the pieces didn't fit together. As to
Cruise, he has been trying to become a decent actor, yet once
again fails to transcend his movie star persona.
Don't get me started on The Last Samurai, a fine story
spoiled both by Cruise's adolescent treatment of his
character and by a ludicrous ending tacked on after the
natural ending (when they give battle and get
massacred).
