After reading this, I trotted up to my son's room to check his bookcase. When I was but a wee squirt, I read all the Hardy Boys books, and when I'd exhausted those I started reading the Three Investigator Series. Got an early start on mysteries, like a lot of us, I suppose. Anyway, I ran across all my books in an old box in my parents' attic a few years back, and gave them to my son. He's in college now, but the books were still in his bookcase. Darned if I don't have two or three William Arden (Dennis Lynds) titles in there. Probably first editions, since I'd buy these books as soon as they hit the stores. I could kick myself, because Dennis was at Bouchercon and I had the opportunity to talk with him briefly. Would have been nice to have the books along to get some autographs. Might be fun to read them again... R
