No, there's nothing special about her scene, except that it's weird. She was drugged and has been poking herself with pins to stay awake, or so it seems. The address she gives him is phony and she's never seen again.

Me too. I'm with Mr. Keenan. I think Huston improved this by simplifying it in his movie. I think she'd fit better into a Continental Op story. For this one, with the way it moves and the focus on the group of treasure hunters, she's a bit out of it. How was it done in the previous two adaptations? Anyone remember?
