I thought that was a pretty scary place, actually. They did serious damage to peoples' minds. It creeped me out. I agree with everything else you say, though--I'm really enjoying rereading the McGees in order, and I'm up to the eight or tenth Helm.

Speaking of JDM, I recently picked up TWO (1983), an odd little book that reprints two old pulp stories, and NOTHING CAN GO WRONG (1981), non-fiction, the story of the last voyage of a cruise ship. I have about five books left on my list before I have all the books he wrote. Then, once I've read them all, I'll think about collecting firsts.
