On the other hand, it's the book that got me hooked on
Pelecanos. I'd avoided reading anything of his because I
didn't think they sounded like
"my kind of books." I basically grabbed SHOEDOG from the
library shelf out of frustration at not finding anything I
was actually looking for. Once I started reading it, I blew
right through it and immediately went in search of his other
books.
