Meredith Phillips's DEATH SPIRAL (Perseverance Press, 1984) is not, by any stretch of the imagination, hard-boiled or noir, but it is a mystery. As the title suggests, the plot involves figure skating. However, since it's set during the Winter Olympics, it's possible, even likely, that there might be references to Olympic hockey.
