>There was a live TV version, run as the first episode
>of a suspense anthology series called CLIMAX, in 1954.
> It starred Dick Powell, who, of course, was the first
>film Marlowe and the first radio Marlowe. Thus he
>became the first TV Marlowe as well.
>Altman, however, may not even have been aware of it.

Are there any known copies of it, even? Legit is probably way too much to ask, but I'd settle for a bootleg. That would be really interesting to see, since I've always felt Powell was the best Marlowe (and Mitchum the best might-have-been).

And since I missed a slew of digests during the Great Freezeout of
'04, did anyone ever announce where the Rara-Avians are meeting in Toronto?

Schooley owes me a beer.

And yes, Marianne, I know I owe you one.
