Mike's mentioning his recent read reminded me I wanted to
mention about a book I just finished up, Coyote Revenge by
Fred Davis. First, it's short (always a plus). I'm not sure
if fits our hardboiled definition, maybe more medium-broiled.
The story is set in the late 1930s in Oklahoma. A new sheriff
has to solve a murder mystery and knocks over a few folks
doing it. Mr. Davis' writing style reminds me of Charles
Williams' Texas novels which is a compliment. A fast and fun
read.
