Actually, it was a student of mine. So you're not alone in your observation. He went so far as to say the show would be boring without the cursing. That's his opinion, all well and good, but he went on to claim it was not only overused, but inauthentic, that those words did not even exist at that time. I told him that was wrong, at least fuck and I figured it was wrong about the others, too. Every generation thinks they invented those words; they are shocked when I play them Morton's Murder Ballad.

I told him I would check. Figured you all could save me a trip to the library, which you did. Thanks.
