I have no idea what the purpose of the joke is (if indeed
it's a joke), but I do know that I've never heard of any of
the titles O'Connell mentions. I may not have every Gold
Medal or Lion book, but I have most of 'em, and the odds are
that if Loftus was writing them I'd have at least one of
them. Or would have heard of him before. So I just choose to
believe that Loftus doesn't exist.
