RARA-AVIS: Southwest reading list

Are there are any early Elmore Leonard books set in the American southwest? Some of his westerns must have been set there. I can't think of any settings for his early crime novels except California, and then there's Florida and Detroit.

I had a look at Bill Pronzini's BLUE LONESOME, which is set in Beulah, Nevada, which seems to be in the north part of the state. Does it have the southwest feel? I remember it as pretty dusty and flat and bleak.
