That may the be same book, which I wasn't aware of. Here's the blurb from the Amazon.com site, which includes the same character name as appears in the LONDON NOIR story:

<< Gust is on parole after a ten year stretch for armed robbery. He needs money and gets involved in what appears to be a straightforward scam, but soon realizes that he is out of his depth. Adrift in the seedy Soho demi-monde, Gust doesn't know where to turn.
>>

You continued:
<< Two stories of his that I know are self-contained are Every Day is a Day in August and Changeless Susan. Fresh Blood has Nightmare in the Streets, the first chapter of the book of the same that was supposed to soon be published in English, but never was, as far as I know.
>>

Any notion as to why it remains unpublished?

Thanks for the info!
