The latest edition of MYSTERY NEWS has a positive review of
the title COTTONWOOD by Scott Phillips from me. However, I
would say it is very different from the previous two titles
but still should be able to be enjoyed by those who read his
noir and liked them. He sure has the ability to write
characters who challenge the reader to like them. Bill Ogden
is an interesting main character to say the least. In some
ways, this book reminded me of Loren Estleman's book BILLY
GASHADE, another great mix of the American West, history and
crime.
