it's really hard to find translations in America of anything that isn't a literary classic, or at least acknowledgeably highbrow. a shame, too, since i think there would be a great deal of interest in certain circles, for example, in a line that translated the best of the Sere Noire books. certainly it's the only way i'll ever read them, as i don't read french.

perhaps a small press in the future might investigate this?

i feel this lack in other areas, too. i like swashbuckling fiction, for example: there's a ton of french, japanese and chinese work out there that i think would be of interest to american readers, if only it were better known.
