Jim, you're right. Archer and Fortune have similar
temperaments. They are both sharp observers, and they are
both compassionate.There is also a similarity in that the
cases end not solved but finished (with a lot of characters
finished, too...). The narrative styles are somewhat similar,
though Lynds lets Fortune digress more than Macdonald lets
Archer. They are both first-class writers.
