RARA-AVIS: more about YA noir

Hi Mark, There were no YA books when I wrote The Young and The Violent as Vin Packer, but had there been several of my Packer books would be YA. The only suspense or "noir" I did as M.E. Kerr was the Fell series. All three books are out in one paperback called The Books of Fell.

What distinguishes a YA book from others is strictly the age of the protagonist. Should be in teens.

I wasn't too fond of Smack. The only British suspense or noir I like is a Phillip Pullman book. There are many. He's really good.

I'd be happy to answer any questions your daughter has.

Cheers! vin packer
