I can confirm this. Rafelson directed POODLE SPRINGS for HBO,
with a script by Tom Stoppard. While Parker wrote about a
fortyish Marlowe, Stoppard choose to age Marlowe (played by
James Caan with an eye to Bogart) into 1963. I agree with
Dick that it's an okay movie.
