Chris, Laura is a good example. And the only one of your examples I know. Does the novel handle that in the same way, I wonder?

Supposedly Wilder and Chandler wrote the script of Double Indemnity as a love story between Fred MacMurray and Edward G Robinson, not MacMurray and Stanwyck.

Do any of Greg Araki's films fit? The few I've seen have the folie a deux (or trois) model, not hommes fatals.
