RARA-AVIS: MONKEY'S MASK, Porter 1994

Somebody mentioned Porter's MONKEY'S MASK recently. It was probably Mark Sullivan. I just finished it. Not a bad book. Way different than what I'm used to. I've never read a hardboiled book in verse. I hate poetry, but this was well done. Lean, mean, and clean. Never read anything with a strong lesbian theme before, either.

It's about an Australian woman Jill Fitzpatrick searching for a lost child. Moving without being too melodramatic. Tough and some- times funny. Definitely hardboiled. I recommend it.
