And it's something some readers want to do, but they're not
sure if they can. Sometimes it's just goddamn hard going to
work every day and supporting your family and trying to stay
honest. That's something George Pelecanos deals with in his
books. Where's the heroism in everyday life? How does an
ordinary person keep his or her honour? Hardboiled fiction is
a perfect place to deal with that.
