I finally had a chance a few weeks ago to read THE
DIFFERENCE, the retitled republication of THE HOMBRE FROM
SONORA (at least, I think that was the original title, if
memory serves). Billed as an "existential western" by some,
it was a fantastic read, replete with sociopathic characters
and issues of morality and mortality of the most extreme
sort. Really enjoyed this one -- while I wouldn't place it at
the top of my Willeford fave list, it certainly rivals some
of his strongest work.
Now I'm just waiting for THE SECOND HALF OF THE DOUBLE
FEATURE to appear...supposedly, it should be out this
month.
