Never met him, but I wrote him back in 1969 asking for advice
on How to be a Writer; he wrote a tough guy letter back. I
wrote him again in 1981 or 1982, told him I had a couple
books done, he wrote back a sweet letter, but then he died at
the Mayo Clinc before I could answer him.
