************ My memory is fuzzy, but I believe that almost all of Vin Packer's (aka Meaker) stuff had some homosexual slant to it. There's a great article on her in MURDER OFF THE RACK, which has other great articles in it, some by list members. Packer and Highsmith lived together for a while. I've got a Vin Packer novel waiting on me on the shelf. Been meaning to get to it.
