RARA-AVIS: Sweet Sixteen

Last night I saw Ken Loach's Sweet Sixteen, about a pretty hardboiled kid trying to earn enough money to buy his mother a trailer for them to live in after she gets out of jail. Recommended, especially for the incredible acting job of Martin Compston in the lead role.

Anyway, does anyone know if 16 is the age at which a boy can be tried as an adult in Scotland? That would add a bit of resonance to a comment made, not that it really needed any added resonance.
