It goes beyond simple plot similarities. Someone recently mentioned how cinematic Teran's descriptions were. Well, the opening description of Bob looking across the open field at the homestead mimicks a shot early in the Searchers (which also shows up in Star Wars).

Searchers is an incredibly influential movie for the great '70s directors, particularly Lucas and Scorcese. It's the clear model for part of Star Wars, most of Taxi Driver and virtually all of Hardcore.

Beyond influential, though, it's a great film, miker. Enjoy it. And say Hi to Mose for me.
