I'm not getting into this discussion - too busy. Just to say
that he doesn't go to pick up awards in person, either.
From internal evidence I'd guess that BT is a man with
either a contract or a daytime job that won't allow publicity
for this kind of writing. I guessed a 60ish academic, when I
read the book, though there are stylistic and structural
signs of experience in something like screen-writing, maybe.
A very visual imagination, anyway.
Or maybe he's just some little girl's well-loved old Grandad?
