> Carnival Queen by Richard Wormser, a three part
serial that ran in Argosy
> Magazine beginning in the April 3, 1937
issue.
I've read this. It's not very hardboiled, but it's a good
story. Wormser wrote quite a few serials for Argosy,
including one I've always wanted to read entitled "Gorilla
Cargo". A pulp author named John Wilstach seemed to
specialize in circus and carnival stories. I've read a
novella of his in Argosy called "Wagon Show War".
> The Freak Show Murders in the May 1944 issue of The
Shadow, by then a
digest.
I've read this, too. Don't remember much about it, but I
generally don't like The Shadow stories from the Forties too
much.
