FREAKSHOW by Jacquin Sanders, reprinted in a paperback
edition as STRIP THE HEART. An extraordinary novel.
Since "noir" crosses genres, I'd also suggest two classic
fantasy novels: THE CIRCUS OF DR. LAO by Charles G. Finney,
and Ray Bradbury's SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES. Both are
sufficiently dark and sinister.
Also, don't forget the semi-fictional CIRCUS PARADE by Jim
Tully.
