I like Jackson's earlier Fang Mulheisen books ('The Diehard', 'The Blind Pig',
'Hit on the House'), but the couple of later ones I read ('LA Donna Detroit' and
'Deadman') were rather disappointing.

A few of his books are now published in the UK by Canongate.
