Some news y'all might be interested in:
I'll be publishing a collection of Charles Willeford's
short-fiction and poetry in the near future. We're hard at
work typesetting the book and compiling the materials, but
are stumped by one poem appearing in PROLETARIAN LAUGHTER
(Alicat Bookshop Press, 1948). The copy I have at hand is
missing the final poem, "Continuity...". If anybody has a
copy, I would love to hear from you.
The new collection, titled THE SECOND HALF OF THE DOUBLE
FEATURE, should be out in a couple of months at latest,
probably in May. It'll be available through all large online
bookstores (amazon, b&n, booksamillion) and from the
publisher's website so should be no problem acquiring a copy.
It'll be probably $18 for trade paperback and $35-40 for
hardback (the difference will be that trade will only contain
short fiction while hc will have added goodies, including
complete published poetry and a large number of unpublished
poems). The stories will include most or all of EVERYBODY'S
METAMORPHOSIS, as well as some unpublished or rare
items.
The marketing budget is tiny, with targeted review copies and
possibly a few small ads. Some word-of-mouth would help us
out a lot. If the book sells, we would certainly consider
further volumes...
That's all for now, but I'll give more details when I have
some.
