A hardboiled cat novel? However, this led me on a merry chase at abebooks.com until I figured out that the title is actually Cat Catcher.

The ubiquity of Cats in the titles of mysteries has nearly made them MacGuffins rather than felines. So, to cut off similar confusion about another title, THE MAN WHO LOVED CAT DANCING is a western, not a mystery.
