As far as I know, most of Marshall's books (the Yellowthread
series) take place in Hong Kong. The ones I have read (Thin
Air, in particular) are very well done.
Peter Corris has written many novels, most in the Cliff Hardy
series. I enjoyed Beware of the Dog, The Greenwich
Apartments, The Dying Trade, Deal Me Out.
Re Bant Singer, I have only been able to find the Italian
translations (from the Fifties) of three of his novels. Not
bad at all, but at that time many Italian translations of
hardboiled novels were severely edited (for "public decency"
matters...), so I guess I might be missing something
:-)
Best, Luca

I'd suggest also Peter Corris, William Marshall, Bant Singer.
Years ago I also read a book by a mysterious "John Godwin"
(Requiem for a Rat, 1963), which was very good.
*********** Thanks, Luca. Are there any particular titles by
those authors that stand out?
