RARA-AVIS: Jason and Medea

Mario, you're right that it would make a perfect Gil Brewer book (or Joel and Ethan Coen movie). But the story I remembered had Medea killing her brother, cutting him into pieces, and throwing them in the water to slow down her father's pursuit. Then, when Jason starts ogling the young princess, Medea rigs up a poison dress for her. At the end, she kills her TWO sons by Jason and flies away in a magic chariot (this part might be a bit hard to translate), while Jason stands below, impotently cursing her and shaking his fist (actually, this part fits the noir picture pretty well, since many noir heroes tend to be impotent men undone by their women). I just wasn't aware of a version wherein Jason kills himself.
