RARA-AVIS: re: Mark Sullivan on Russell James

Mark says that I "mentioned that The Annex was based on The Changeling. I heard that Oh No Not My Baby was based on a movie. Is that right? "

No, OH NO, NOT MY BABY took its title from the 70s rock classic. (Every chapter is given an old rock title.) One of my mid-noir books, this one revolves around the lead sax player in a jazz-rock band, on the pursuit of whoever and however, when - just as he becomes reunited with the girl he always fancied at school - she leaves his life by losing hers in an industrial meat pulveriser in chapter one. Take it from the top, guys.

THE CHANGELING is noir and sexy, like the original. And my next, coming out in Britain this June, is my darkest yet. Set in the world of internet and other commercial sex, NO ONE GETS HURT is one I hope will excite Rara Avis aficionados.
