Puzo wrote the scripts, or at least the stories, for the
films GODFATHER II and GODFATHER III. However these were
written originally for the screen. They were never actually
novels.
He also wrote a novel entitled THE SICILIAN which apparently
took place during the time Michael Corleone was hiding in
Sicily. Michael appears as a supporting character.
Since it took place during a period covered by the original
novel, THE SICILIAN, strictly speaking, wasn't a sequel. I
guess you'd call it an
"in-between-quel."
