Al, Leonardo Sciascia is a great writer (candidate for the Nobel prize). His stories are not pure genre, but they are tough, with revenge prominent. I highly recommend him.

As to the late Mexican writer Jorge Ibargþ§¯©´ia, he wrote a mystery, Las muertas or The Dead Ones as well as several tongue-in-cheek novels about the Mexican revolution. He was an excellent writer. His masterpiece is Los relá°agos de agosto, or August Lightning.

The others don't ring a bell.

Best,

MrT
