well documented...and ecclectic...and since there is a
reference to Film Noir Music in your 'general' website,
here's part of something I wrote not to long ago to 'rompol'
(French Rara-Avis, kinda sorta) concerning some 'Noir'
recordings ....now this prose is in french but it make
reference to LP's and Cd's and you should find all references
interesting for our subject anyway...I have no clue if
several of these records have been re-edited in Cd's but most
were vinyl at one time...

en g鮩ral pas trop mon type de musique (les Byrds et Blood
Sweat & Tears, 硠m'a jamais donn頡ucun frisson et surtout
pas des tremblements noirs ou verdⴲes), mais l'id饠est
sympa...
€ Un LP/album fantastique qui date de 1980 et qui se nomme
Film Noir et dont l'auteur est le musicien Ran Blake (Arista
Novus 3019 -1980). Ran Blake et ses musiciens qui viennent
pour la plupart du D鰡rtement de Musique du New England
Conservatory arrangent leurs impressions (dans un style
tr賠moderne d骠) sur des films noirs tels Eve, Garden of
Delight, Key largo, Doktor Mabuse, Touch of Evil....et mꭥ Le
Boucher de Chabrol....Certains puristes trouveront certains
de leurs choix cin魡tographiques en dehors des canons du
'noir', mais la musique elle-mꭥ est noire en diable dans tout
l'album....Au dos du disque (pochette toute noire!) il y a un
long pallabre de Andrew Sarris, critique de cin頴r賠connu et
respect頡ux States et qui toujours professa une 鴵de
approfondie des genres comme le Noir et des films hors moules
standards. Sarris cautionne le disque et invite
l'auditeur
ࠡller plus loin en visionnant les films et pour changer point
de vue/perceptions...C'鴡it pas rien de dire 硠ࠣette

maybe I'm not well informed and they have been re-issued , as
was planned two years ago...In particular I'm interested in
The Dark Fantastic originally re-published in 83 by Penzler
at Myst. Press in NYC...any new
...pressings...???...X-mas is coming and my friends need good
books...because the air is thick and filled with
vitriol...
