A classic alright. Coincidentally, my column in the Aussie mag CRIME FACTORY talks about SOUTHERN COMFORT (& DELIVERANCE). (The next issue's column will deal with Sam Peckinpah's STRAW DOGS & BRING ME THE HEAD OF ALFREDO GARCIA, in case anyone is interested. The novel that STRAW DOGS is based on was reissued in the Xanadu/Blue Murder series edited by Maxim Jakubowski - thereby neatly making this an on-topical missive, as luck would have it).
